On July 15th, we welcomed Dr. Robert Cole as the newest member of the Reinert Center team. With almost 20 years’ experience as a faculty member at SLU, he brings deep teaching experience (both on-ground and online), a thorough knowledge of the University, and an already-strong commitment to the Center and its mission.
Dr. Cole has been working with faculty on teaching both formally and informally, including as a workshop facilitator for the Reinert Center. In 2012, he joined the Reinert Center Advisory Board, and in 2013-2014 was selected for an Innovative Teaching Fellowship to teach in our Learning Studio. Most recently, he served on the project team for the Center’s inaugural Inclusive Practice Grant, which focused on universal design for learning (UDL) as a catalyst for curricular reinvention.
Robert brings expertise in inclusive and accessible teaching, active learning strategies, teaching with technology, developing rubrics to assess student learning, and using e-portfolios for program-level assessment among other areas. We are delighted to welcome him to the Reinert Center as an Instructional Developer, and we look forward to your getting a chance to work with him in this new capacity.
