Call Self-Nominations to the Reinert Center Advisory Board

The Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning is pleased to invite applications from full-time faculty members to its 2025-2028 Advisory Board.

To nominate yourself for membership to the Reinert Center’s Advisory Board please send an email to Mary Cook (mary.cook@slu.edu) by Friday, September 19, 2025 with the following information:

  1. Name and Department
  2. Indication which level of membership you are seeking (see below for details).
    1. If seeking active membership (Tiers 1 and 2) please also include a statement regarding your commitment to service at that level, length or term sought, and your current and previous participation in Center programs and services. Please also indicate if you are willing to serve at another level, if needed.
    1. If seeking Tier 3, Friends of the Center, no additional action beyond #1, above, is necessary.

Reinert Center Advisory Board Membership Tiers

(board membership is limited to one tier per term)

Tier 1: Advisory Board, executive committee (one or two-year term, may be renewed for a second term)

  • Three- five members, may not all be from the same College/School
  • Maintains knowledge of the Center’s current services and programming, and acts as a formal liaison between the Center and the instructors within their College/School (e.g. share upcoming Center events, recommend Center services, inform Center on faculty needs)
  • Serves on board committees (awards, ad hoc)
  • Offers faculty perspective and advice on key topics to Center leadership
  • Participates in Center events when possible, at least once per semester, and encourages others to do so as well
  • Attends all board meetings, generally 90 minutes, scheduled at least once per semester

Tier 2: Advisory Board, at-large (two or three-year term, may be renewed for a second term)

Tier 3: Friends of the Center (no term limit)

  • Emeritus board members, previous board members, administrators, current and former fellows and grant-holders, staff in teaching-focused areas
  • Maintains knowledge of the Center’s current services and programs
  • Participates in Center events when appropriate and possible, and encourages others to do so as well
