Many of us are curious about generative AI but don’t really want students to use it to complete assignments for our classes. Just asking generative AI to write something to turn in undermines their learning and presents issues with the ethical use of technology. There are ways to use generative AI that are not for assignment completion. I wanted to share a resource with you that may give you some ideas for those instances. The resource guide, Using Generative AI to Support Neurodivergent Students, provides some practical suggestions that allow neurodivergent students to use generative AI to make course content more accessible to them and provide scaffolded supports to make meaning. Whether your students have an aural or visual processing disorder, ADHD, or other learning difference, the use of generative AI may be a way to better succeed in the course.
