CTTL Awarded AAC&U Grant

The Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning has been awarded a Seminar Grant from the Association of American Colleges & Universities, as part of the AAC&U’s Bringing Theory to Practice program.  The grant will support a series of conversations among faculty, staff, and students across the SLU campus to discuss how best to foster and facilitate global learning in the classroom.  As SLU undertakes new global educational initiatives, it is important to reflect critically on how to build institutional capacity for success.

Conversations will be held in Spring 2013 and will consider how best to create scalable global learning opportunities; explore pedagogies and learning technologies that can promote transformational and collaborative global learning; and begin to build a faculty learning community focused on promoting globalization in the classroom, intercultural exchange, and civic engagement.  Ultimately, we hope that these conversations will result in action plan for building capacity and infrastructure for developing more global collaborative learning partnerships.

If you want to be a part of these conversations next spring, please contact Michaella Hammond at mhammon8@slu.edu.
