The space teachers and learners problem-solve, collaborate, and grow in also teaches them. This concept of the environment as the “third teacher” drives much of the research Herman Miller conducts on “the divide between what is known about the learning experience and the spaces built to support them.”
Saint Louis University’s award-winning CTTL Learning Studio is also a part of the Herman Miller Learning Spaces Research Program. In fact, the Learning Studio was recently nominated for consideration in the 2012 Educational Interiors Showcase, a competition sponsored by the American School & University magazine. We are pleased to announce that we were recognized as an Outstanding Design in the Classrooms category!
